Are There Cults In Our Modern Society?

On my next Live Talk Radio Program I will be discussing cult activity in today’s society.  Did you know that you could be a member of a cult?  Find out the facts about cult activity going on right now in our world.  Any group which employs mind control and deceptive recruiting techniques is a cult. In other words cults trick people into joining and coerce them into staying. This is the definition that most people would agree with. Except the cults themselves of course! You may be exposed to a cult without being aware of it and we are going to talk about the many aspects this has on today’s world.

In mind control cults like gangs, skinheads, certain religious groups, Nazi Germany or Communist China you must be careful of what you say and do; "The walls have ears". Everyone is encouraged to watch out for "struggling" brothers and sisters and report what they see to leadership. On smaller scales white, black, Latino, and Asian supremacists, terrorists, and rebel groups commonly use forms of mind control to recruit and dominate their members.

There are millions of people throughout the world who thought that they would never become a member of a cult.  There are numerous misconceptions that exist regarding identifying if an organization is a cult or not and this is what we hope to clarify.  Contrary to popular opinion, many cults are not easy to spot because the members are everyday common people just like you and me.  These people do not dress any differently or live any differently, however, when their lifestyles and behaviors are examined more closely, their cult membership becomes crystal clear.

Other misconceptions that we will explore as we discuss cults are that cults are not just of a religious nature.  The truth is that there are all types of cults which include religious, commercial which uses promises of success, self help and counseling which uses as their base self-improvement or self-help concepts, and political which use their political ideals as their base.  In all of these different cult types, the key control is mind control techniques.  

Some of the most common mind control techniques include:
•   Deception
•   Exclusion
•   Intimidation  
•   Fear
•   Control of relationships
•   Excessive amounts of love
•   Control of information
•   Controlling of members’ time
•   Hierarchy of authority
•   Reporting structure to that hierarchy
•   Pressure selling of goods and services

In our show we will go into more detailed discussion of the key points that you need to look for if you are trying to discern if an organization is a cult or not.  You will be surprised at what you will discover.  We will also discuss and present what you would not find in a cult.  The best way for you to combat and to protect yourself and your loved ones is to become informed and educated.  Education, observation, and reasoning are the best weapon and the best places to start when learning how to protect you against cults of any kind.
