May 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Denver- (May 6, 2010)- National waxing salon, Waxing the City, announced today the launch of its own signature branded wax, Cer-A-Zul, to be used exclusively by its salons.
This announcement is part of the women-owned company’s strategic growth that included expansion into the Dallas market in 2009 and the renovation of its studio in the Denver Tech Center last month.
In late 2009, Waxing the City owners Robin Schoh, Marilyn Hartshorn, Summer Hartshorn and Alexandria Jimenez, traveled through Europe looking to develop the best hard wax in the business. They toured the countries known for innovations in beauty and cosmetics and ultimately engaged one of the world’s best wax chemists, Gema Garcia in Madrid.
“This has been a thrilling process,” said Schoh. “While we currently use the best wax available on the market, we are always looking for ways to push the envelope, keep current, stretch, grow and to bring our customers the very latest and very best.

“Garcia is considered by many to be the best in the biz. She used all of her experience and know-how to formulate what we believe to be nothing less than the best hard wax available anywhere,” Schoh added.
Cer-a-zul, is a 2nd generation film wax that uses the highest quality ingredients available, it stays more pliable, and has an increased amount of Azulene oil as compared to other hard waxes on the market. Azulene oil has natural soothing and calming qualities that lessens irritation, red spots and discomfort.
“By handpicking the chemist and closely working with the formulas, we were able to regulate the strength of the wax as well as the amount of soothing agents to make our clients as comfortable as possible during their services, “ explained Hartshorn.
Hard wax, many times blue in color, is known as a “stripless” wax because it does not require a muslin strip to remove the wax from the skin. Hard wax is gentler to the skin and used on more sensitive areas, such as the face or bikini area. The uniqueness of hard wax is that it goes on the skin warm and then as it cools it lifts from the skin – only wrapping itself around the actual hairs – making the pull less painful.
Waxing the City salons began using Cer-A-Zul in their salons mid April and looks to possibly use Garcia and other chemists to create a full line of branded wax in the future.
