Status of 4Play services in Europe

May 3, 2010 - PRLog -- 4Play services are slowly being offered in Europe. Many operators across Europe offer the 4play packages, which comprise Fixed Telephony, Mobile Telephony, Broadband Internet and Television, but are reticent to launch a bundled offer with these four services. In Europe, Dataxis Intelligence identifies five operators with 4Play offer: Telekom Austria (Austria), Belgacom (Belgium), Bouygues Telecom (France), RCS&RDS (Romania) and Telia (Sweden).

No official figures were published but it seems that these packages had a great success. Recently, Orange France announced the launch of its 4Play offer, set before September, after the success of Ideo, 4Play offer of Bouygues Telecom. Launched in May 2009, Ideo added mobile service to the existing 3Play offer. Bouygues Telecom’s subscriber acquitsition rose since this launch and had one of the best acquisition rates. This performance led Orange France to launch its own 4Play offer and take market shares in this new segment. In Germany, Deutsche Telekom plans to merge its fixed and mobile services; this merger would probably result in a 4Play offer.

According to Dataxis Intelligence, 4Play will be the standard offer in the future with the different acquisitions and positioning of operators in Europe.
