May 1, 2010 - PRLog -- The tools involved when painting are ceiling are ladder, roller, brush, and painter's tape. We will go through the steps one at time as we begin our painting project. As we mentioned before it is very important for you’re to do all the necessary preparations before hand, this will involve in taping the edges of the ceiling so the white ceiling paint will not touch the wall paint. A drop cloth handy to protect your furniture and floors, a ladder handy for brushing the corner and the edges. An extension pole is required to extend your roller's reach. Remember with every painting project you should always start with a brand new roller, free of any dirt or dust. It is not a good idea to reuse any rollers, since it is hardly worth your while to save a roller that may compromise your finished product. Painting a ceiling requires a little more preparation compare to any drywall. Since you are rolling against the gravity it is very easy to make a mess you may not recover from. After putting your brand new roller on a roller sleeve, attach the extension pole and adjust to your height. Your drop cloth should cover the section of the painted area, and it is always a good idea to paint one section at a time when dealing with the ceiling. When dipping your roller into the bucket, you want to make sure it is properly saturated but not overflowing.

Start your ceiling from one corner of the room, apply your roller firmly in a straight line if possible. It usually takes at least two coats of paint to cover your ceiling properly. So don't worry about any missed spot on your first run, because you will most likely get it the second time. Painting the ceiling can be little tricky since most of the ceiling color is white, and it is difficult to see white paint on top of white paint. One trick I have learned over the years is to look at your paint area on an angle, you can usually judge the wetness of your fresh coat of paint by how glossy it is. One last trick to keep in mind is you should always be relatively close to your roller when rolling the ceiling. Minimize any roller slips due to the pressure you applied, don't over extend your roller into unprotected areas, and have fun painting your ceiling project.
