NABA in cooperation with Parsons Paris presents the Course “From Haute Couture to Pret-à-Porter"

April 27, 2010 - PRLog -- The prestigious fashion schools NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano) and Parsons Paris are proud to present the original Course “From Haute Couture to Pret-à-Porter: a European Fashion Design journey from Paris to Milan” (http://www.design-summer-courses.com/from-haute-couture-to-pret-a-porter-intermediate.html).

This course is an intensive on-site exploration of the fashion background present in the European capitals of fashion and glamour: Paris and Milan. That is why the course is structured in two different sessions taking place firstly in the chic city of Paris (France) and then in the cosmopolitan city of Milan (Italy).

In this way, students will have the unique chance to experience the style, impeccable good taste and personality of the greatest and most renowned brands in the world fashion system.

All participants in fact will participate in individual and group workshops, lectures by fashion designers and experts, off-campus walking tours, guided visits to ateliers, museums, exhibitions, high end retail emporiums and fashion shows that will feed their creativity.

During the “From Haute Couture to Pret-à-Porter” (http://www.design-summer-courses.com/from-haute-couture-t...) fashion course, current fashion trends will be analyzed in both cities and contextualized within a historical study of haute couture and prêt-à-porter, together with an observation of trends in boutiques and design studios; this will help students understand the different fashion cultures and styles that made these cities unique in the world.

The course is scheduled from June 21st to July 2nd in Paris, then students will have 3 day break for independent travel to Italy, and the second part of the course will take place in Milan from July 5th to July 16th.

The course is recommended for aspirant fashion designers and for students interested in fashion management, fashion journalism, and cultural trends in fashion. The minimum age for participating in the fashion course is 19 years at the start of the program.
