Apex Artist and 2010 Sharpie Squad Member Laura Kelly Hosts Doodle Contest May 28

May 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Apex Artist Laura Kelly, owner and creator of Laura Kelly Designs and a member of the 2010 Sharpie Squad (online at http://www.sharpieuncapped.com/frame.aspx?url=http://blog.sharpie.com/2010/04/meet-the-2010-sharpie-squad), will host a “Doodle It Up” contest for children ages 8-17 and adults ages 18 and up May 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Common Grounds Coffee Shop, which is located at 219 N. Salem Street in downtown Apex, N.C. Registered participants will be provided doodle paper and a wide selection of Sharpie markers and pens to use while creating their masterpieces.

All doodle masterpieces must be created onsite during the contest hours, but participants can visit http://laurakellydesigns.com/cms/Home/Doodle_Contest.php to download one of four doodles and practice creating their drawing leading up to the contest. All participants must register online by May 27 in order to participate. The contest will be limited to the first 50 participants to register in each age category.

Kelly will select first, second and third place prizewinners, which will be announced May 31 on her website, Facebook page, Twitter page, LinkedIn page, Triangle TRACKS social network, and on other local websites and online news venues. The first place winner in both categories will receive Sharpie products and $100 worth of personalized stationery featuring his or her prize-winning doodle. The second place winner in both categories will receive Sharpie products and $50 worth of personalized stationery featuring his or her prize-winning doodle, and the third place winner in both categories will receive Sharpie products and $25 worth of personalized stationery featuring his or her prizewinning doodle.
