NJ Honda Dealer Sponsors Champion Softball Team

An example of this affirmative policy in action is when the dealership said “Yes” to sponsoring a softball team in the Garfield Men’s Softball League, and that team ended up taking the championship title.
The NJ Honda dealer sponsored Garden State Honda team managed by Tim Mathews was the winner in fall’s second annual Garfield Men’s Softball Tournament, winning a payout of $1,200. The team completed the season with a record of 14-10 and 2-1 in series competition.
“We’re hoping to be repeat champions in the spring season,” said team manager Tim Mathews. “We couldn’t have won the championship without Garden State Honda, and the support they’ve given us has really been incredible. We really look forward to bringing the championship home again with their help this season.”
NJ Honda dealer General Sales Manager Tim Hlavenka, who also plays on the team, said, “Giving back is really important to us as a business and as community members. We’re always looking for opportunities to make a positive impact on others, and the softball league is a great vehicle to do so.
“We wish them much luck this spring season,” Mr. Hlavenka added.
The 2010 Garfield Men’s Softball Spring League action begins on Sunday, April 25th. Garden State Honda’s season opener is against Sportsmans’ Blue at 8:45 a.m. on Field 1. Garfield Men’s Softball Spring Weeknight League begins on Monday, May 3rd.
