New Tractors unveiled at Heart of England ConferenceTwo new tractors had customers in a spin at its official UK launch in Warwickshire.
Around 450 VIP guests travelled from all over the UK to the three-day Fendt Forward event at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Meriden Road, Fillongley. Fendt, who are based at Abbey Park, Stoneleigh, is part of the AGCO Corporation and manufactures and sells a wide range of tractors and balers. Tony Bourne, sales support manager at Fendt, said the Fendt 828 was unveiled on a large turntable while another new model, the Fendt 211, was also revealed to the UK audience for the first time. “We showed off our two new tractors which have been manufactured in Marktoberdorf in Bavaria in Germany,” he said. “The 828 was placed on a turntable and it is a big arable machine which has high horse power and is lightweight. We are confident this will become one of our best selling machines. “The other slightly smaller tractor is a livestock farming machine which has 110 horse power and a three cylinder engine. “It has been a very successful three days. We invited VIP customers and we had an average of 150 people attend each day which was more than we were expecting. “We had customers from every county in England plus from Wales, Scotland and Ireland and the feed-back was very good. We have already taken retail orders and we expect to sell 50 tractors this year. “We always use Heart of England because the access is very good and the staff are extremely professional.” Stephen Hammon, managing director of Heart of England, said seeing the giant tractor rotate on a large turntable had caused quite a stir among the audience. “It is the first time the company has used a turntable to showcase such a large tractor,” he said. “Our experienced events team worked with Fendt to ensure the turntable was strong enough to take the weight of the ten-tonne tractor. “We also organised a full technical package to ensure that the product looked spectacular when the curtains were dropped. This included a large screen video playback, PowerPoint presentation and an incredible laser and light, topped off with dry ice and pyrotechnics . . . . it really did show off the new product. “The fact that we have such a large site makes manoeuvring such large vehicles relatively easy. Security was also an important issue since we were responsible for the massive tractors which were being shown in the UK for the first time. “Our motto is Let’s Make It Happen and we certainly did. On the first day, we were expecting 60 visitors which soon rose to around 170 but our catering team responded to the challenge and every member of staff was fantastic since the event ran smoothly.” Media enquiries: Michelle Wilson Advent Communications 2 Edison Building Electric Wharf Sandy Lane Coventry CV1 4JA Tel: 024 7663 3636 http://www.advent- # # # Advent Communications is a well-established public relations consultancy based in Coventry.
