Access and the BBB Host Shred Event to Benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the North Valley

April 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Access Information Management, provider of records management storage and destruction services for hardcopy and electronic records will host a document destruction event to educate the Chico, California community about data privacy and benefit the Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley.

In partnership with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Access Chico will host a document destruction event on Saturday, April 17th, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM PDT.  Local individuals and small businesses in the community are encouraged to bring their old documents for destruction.  The first two boxes of documents will be destroyed free of charge and a donation of three dollars per box is requested for additional items, up to a total of six boxes per person.  General donations will also be accepted. Fees and donations collected will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley.

“Each year millions of individuals become victims of identity theft. The proper destruction of personal documents decreases the risk that personal data will fall into the wrong hands. Across the country, Access hosts shred events to educate our local communities about the proper disposal of personal information, which in itself is a very important message,” said David Gesinger, Executive Vice President, Operations, Access Information Management.  “In this case, we have a unique opportunity to bring attention to another good cause – quality after school programs and youth services.  We are proud to host an event that will have a positive impact on both the adults and children of the Chico community.”

Individuals interested in having their old personal records destroyed at the event and making a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley should bring their items and donations to the Access Information Management location at 611 Country Drive in Chico, CA 95928.
