Follow on Google News | Bikeworks Takes The Work Out Of Finding The Right BikeBikeworks, a new family owned bike store opens in Dewitt, Mich. to serve the mid-Michigan community bicycle sales and support.
By: Bikeworks Bikeworks aims at being a perfect fit within the DeWitt community. Store owner, Jon Vandecar, explains, “When my wife, Cynthia, and I entertained the idea of owning a bicycle store again we strongly considered what kind of customers we wanted to serve and how we could make the entire experience unique. DeWitt is a wonderful community of individuals and families with very active lifestyles, yet many have not been on a bike for 20+ years.” The premise behind Bikeworks is to dispel those factors that keep people from enjoying cycling. He continues, “We want the entire experience of finding the right bike and riding it to be fun, comfortable and convenient. We invite you to step into Bikeworks to see and feel the difference. Allow us to provide you with a custom bike fitting.” Bikeworks has been open for less than a month and already Vandecar has heard many stories from visitors into the store. First, buying a bike can be intimidating. Many bike retailers overwhelm customers with a sea of bikes on the floor and use technical terms that don’t mean a thing to the average shopper. Bikeworks is different. The store’s open, modern and clean layout is a reflection of Vandecar’s approach: “We designed the store so that a customer can comfortably enter and be guided to a bike that matches the kind of riding they plan to do.” A full selection of bicycles line the walls and are grouped into categories that make sense for the type of riding to be done, like casual, road, mountain biking and racing. Categories are color coded and identified with tags. Informational stands provide additional education and explanation of upgrades within a given category or bicycle make. Next, each customer receives expert fitting. Riding a bike shouldn’t be painful and Bikeworks takes the guesswork out of finding the bike that is a perfect fit for you and your riding goals. Vandecar alone has over 15+ years of bicycle sales experience and exceptionally high standards of service. You will be guided to your own custom-fit solution using easy to understand terms and given the right information to make the best-educated choice. Bike selection and fitting are the first issues that must be addressed to ensure a comfortable ride. “As the saying goes ‘you get what you pay for’ when buying a bike,” says Vandecar. “The brands we carry, Raleigh and Felt, are proven industry leaders and offer the best in quality, value and technology.” Bikeworks is located in the DeWitt Shopping Center, near many residential neighborhoods and the DeWitt schools. “We are hoping that this area will recognize the exceptional quality we offer in product and service and support it’s own local bike shop. We offer convenience to the DeWitt area and back it up with a price match promise, so there’s no to travel for a deal.” Community events are already underway. The first Bikeworks Tech Seminar was held on April 7, “How to change a flat tire.” Bikeworks Tech Seminars are held every first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and are free to the public. A schedule of upcoming topics, as well as other events, will soon be made available on the Bikework’s website. Bikeworks sells a full selection of bicycles (road, tri, mountain, 29’er, comfort, casual, fitness, hybrid, fixies, youth and BMX) and a complete line of accessories. All brands are serviced from minor repairs, tune-ups, to complete overhauls. Bikeworks is located at 13169 Schavey Road in DeWitt. Open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit http://www.bikeworks.pro or call 517-668-6650 for more information. End
