April 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Indian DTH market is very competitive and successful, the market doubled in just over a year. There were 19.074 million subscribers in 2009 compared to 10.649 million in 2008.

Dish TV is the leader with 5.3 million subscribers, followed by Sun Direct (4.8M), TataSky (4.5M) and Reliance (2.23M). Dish TV represents 28% of market share, Sun Direct and Tata Sky has respectively 25% and 24%. Thus, the market can be divided in four parts with the 3 leaders with about 25% and the fourth part “Others” including Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel and the new entrant Videocon.
