March 31, 2010 - PRLog -- More than 1,000 visitors toured three eco-savvy Carlsbad new homes March 27-28 during the model home grand opening weekend for Rockrose at The Foothills, according to builder Brookfield Homes. The new home builder is the only builder in San Diego to offer production homes that exceed California’s energy efficiency standards by at least 35 percent.

“The Rockrose model grand opening was a very exciting step in the process of offering production homes at this level of efficiency,” said Lora Heramb, vice president of sales and marketing for Brookfield Homes. “It was gratifying to see consumers’ reactions to the many eco-savvy features. Prospective homeowners could see firsthand how they would be saving money and resources.”

Now selling homes in Phase 1, with prices from the low $620,000s, Rockrose at The Foothills features single-family detached homes ranging from approximately 2,116 to 3,167 square feet. The one- and two-story floor plans have three to four bedrooms and two to 4.5 bathrooms. The Rockrose model homes and sales information center are located at 3538 Glen Ave., in Carlsbad. Additional information is available at http://www.brookfieldsd.com or by calling 888-284-8861. Model homes and sales information center hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday.

Rockrose at The Foothills highlights six areas of eco-savvy concentration, including energy conservation, water conservation, waste reduction, indoor air quality, sustainable building materials/wood conservation and renewable energy/solar power (optional).

“Showcasing dozens of different eco-savvy features, Rockrose model homes are a great educational resource for consumers who are hungry for information about how they can save money and live more sustainably,” said Heramb. “For example, the Rockrose Education Garden exhibits a wide range of plant materials that are drought-tolerant. Fifty percent of the plants featured won’t need supplemental watering, once established. These are plants anyone can buy and plant in their own yards.”

Brookfield San Diego Builders, Inc. builds new homes in San Diego and Riverside counties. Brookfield currently is building in the master planned communities of The Foothills in Carlsbad, Windingwalk in Chula Vista, The Estates at StoneBridge east of Scripps Ranch in San Diego, Old Creek Ranch new homes in San Marcos and Morningstar Ranch in Winchester.  For more information about Brookfield communities and to learn about the company’s signature construction differences, visit http://www.brookfieldsd.com.
