Fischer & Frichtel to Build St. Louis’ First St. Jude Dream Home®

March 31, 2010 - PRLog -- ST. LOUIS,  March 31, 2010 – A leader in the regional new home industry since 1945, Fischer & Frichtel has been selected as the builder for the first St. Jude Dream Home® ever to be constructed in the St. Louis area.
Located in Memphis, Tennessee, and the vision of legendary entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is recognized as one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers.  The nationwide St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway program is one of the hospital’s largest single-event fundraisers and has generated more than $155 million over the past 18 years.

The local St. Jude Dream Home program was officially launched at the St. Charles Convention Center on March 16 with a “bricks-&-sticks” luncheon and ceremonial groundbreaking.
Construction of Fischer & Frichtel’s lavish story-&-a-half is scheduled to begin in April at Talbridge, a scenic 187-acre residential development on Friedens Road, east of Highway 94 in St. Charles and quickly accessible from major east/west traffic arteries.  
The community ranks among the most successful in the metro region and features several villages linked by a beautifully landscaped parkway and interspersed with lakes, creeks, gazebos, and “community greens,” open parcels of greenspace that complement the streetscape and serve as common areas for residents’ use.
Chris Fischer, project manager for Fischer & Frichtel, reports that the St. Jude Dream Home will be a “Glenhurst,” a newly introduced 4-bedroom design providing approximately 3,450 square feet of living space and situated in Talbridge’s upscale Village A.  Architectural details are now being finalized, and the value of the finished home is projected to be between $400,000 and $500,000.
Plans for the Dream Home Giveaway festivities include a variety of celebrity-studded events, tours of the Glenhurst following its targeted completion date in mid-July, and the grand finale – drawing for the home and a myriad of other valuable prizes – in late August.  
A limited number of $100 raffle tickets will be made available to the public beginning in June, and ticket outlet locations will be announced at a later date.  All proceeds from the event go directly to St. Jude, furthering the center’s mission of finding cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.  
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened in 1962 and has provided leading-edge medical care to children from all 50 states and around the world.  Serving approximately 5,700 young patients annually, the hospital stands alone as the only the only pediatric cancer research facility where families never pay for treatment beyond their insurance coverage, and no child is ever turned away because of the family’s inability to pay.
