March 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Southwest Florida - In a strategic move to meet today’s demand for the cost-conscious, quality home buyer and plan for Neal Communities’ anticipated growth in the local market, Pat Neal, president of Neal Communities, announced the appointment of Michael Storey as president of Neal Communities’ Building Division.

“Mike’s strong leadership skills and success with home building, land acquisition, customer satisfaction and system integration are ideally suited for Neal Communities and our growth in these areas,” said Neal.

Storey brings 34 years of industry related experience to Neal Communities, where he will be in charge of the company’s new and existing community developments throughout Southwest Florida, including the upcoming Central Park in Lakewood Ranch.  His focus will be on continuing Neal Communities’ commanding market share in the value-priced, new home category for first-time, empty-nester and vacation home buyers who seek smaller, more efficient homes.

Prior to joining Neal Communities, Storey spent 10 years as Division President for Taylor Morrison, a division of Wimpey PLC, in Tampa, Fla., where he led his division’s growth from 150 to more than 700 closings covering two major west coast Florida markets.  He was also instrumental in land acquisition purchases and finished lots for more than 6,000 homes.  He also worked for Renar Development and Hallmark Builders in Orlando, Fla., as vice president of operations and vice president of construction, respectively. A State of Florida Certified Building Contractor, Storey holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida.

The recent appointments and additions at Neal Communities, including the promotion of Mark Sochar to president of Neal Signature Homes and the appointment of Storey to lead Neal Communities’ Building Division, are designed to plan and prepare for the continued market rebound.

“2010 is showing great promise and renewed interest in Manatee and Sarasota Counties’ real estate market, particularly in the first-time and semi-custom home categories.  We anticipate growth in these markets to continue.  Neal Communities is now strategically positioned to effectively meet current and future market demands,” Neal added.
