Why Women Need To Get Out Of The Gym To Get Results

How could getting outside the gym, leaving your classes behind and making new friends get you the results you have been dreaming of?

March 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Babes on the Run is a women's Personal Training business in Perth challenging the norm by treating each and every client as an athlete - and they're seeing clients acheive tremendous results!

Founder and Trainer, Justine Guest says "Gyms love to put women on machines or into group classes. Most female clients have limited exercise experience and so you need to start from scratch with each and every one of them".

Guest says Babes on the Run stays away from training indoors for many reasons.  "Client's lead such busy lifestyles that opportunities for connecting with the great outdoors are limited.  Just to be up and see bandicoots or dolphins as the sunrise is a truly remarkable way to start your day".

She also advocates getting off exercise machines.  "Machines guide resistance for you and many of them ask you to sit down while doing it' says Guest.   Putting clients into a seated position means many switch off  stablisers in their core leading to reinforcement of faulty movement patterns if core work isn't done effectivley to supplement training. 'Machines are great for rehabilitation but most of my clients just need education, support and training - they are perfectly capable of guiding their own movements!'.

'Working with Trainers that push technique and form over multiple reptitions, we regularly see client's have that 'light bulb' moment as they finally understand basic movement patterns and then go from strength to strength' says Guest.  'We have many 30-45 year old clients training for marathons because for the first time in their life, a Trainer has listened to them, encouraged them and given them the tools and skills to succeed'.

Getting out of the gym and into a dedicated Personal Training group or 1-on-1 session gets clients into good habits with support all around them too.  'I am constantly amazed at the number of women I speak to who are disappointed in themselves for not being able to do this on their own!  Truly, even the elite have coaches, trainers and support crew so why should the general public be any different.  The key is to be smart and call for backup!'.

Being outdoors means Trainers have to be a lot more switched on too.  'Babes on the Run Trainers don't have equipment that they just put a client on.  We are actively working with clients on new things for every session - our clients work with suspension fitness products, Bosu's, weights or they could do some sprint training with plyometrics.  Every day is different, challenging and rewarding' says Guest.

'Find a group that is local and run by a fitness fanatic - you need someone qualified, registered and insured plus you need an experienced Trainer.  Ask about the length of their experience, their speciality - this is really important to women - we have completely different biomechanics and emotional needs to men.  You need a Trainer who understands this' says Guest.

So get outdoors today - Babes on the Run is located across metropolitan Perth and Mandurah and offers all new clients a free trial to meet the Trainers and experience the difference training with them.

'I'd like to get more women outdoors to reconnect with others in their local community, build support networks and really make a difference to their lives' says Guest.
