POWER AND MIRACLE OF PRAYER: We Hear & Know Of The Victory Over Our Enemies in Prayer

March 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Editors Note: Blessed is the Word of God. In the Word brethren we are instructed to pray. In prayer we can talk with God. In our conversations and as the Holy Spirit goes to work we see a victory in the passing of the flesh. We also see a victory as God sees it over those that come to try the impossible. No man in the flesh has any power that compares with God. The mountains move and the rivers change course at God’s direction not from the power of man and the technology that God allows him to develop. Recorded messages from God’s people also cannot be destroyed. We often never see the speaker but the righteous listen and they hear Him all the time in which we liveth.


Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. To the Church (the Church of Christ Jesus the Prophets and Apostles) and believing Christians everywhere. To those that believe in the Bible (the Spirit of God) as the supreme authority that governs all of humankind. In this we give thanks to God the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit that leads and guides us the straightway. We also come with no material motive or gain or profit from rendering the Truth of God. Those called to great service are given the greatest prosperity that exists by God and not man.


Beloved, to God our Father be the glory. Therefore, we are grateful for His kind mercy that provides comfort even in death. There are sweet sorrows with the Lord as we are often tested and the heat of the fire is raised for the righteous that have much work to do. No doubt beloved we are exceedingly grateful today, yesterday and tomorrow for our promised victory over our enemies.

At the 44th Division of Psalms we find a prayer for deliverance. Rest assured when you seem to feel defeated and want to give up God is with you. He is our only hope.
“One man trusted in a piece of metal he held in his hand. However it was broken and torn in battle. Meanwhile another man although at this time he carried a weapon he also placed his trust in the Lord. Did he also know that soon in time that the Bible would be his sword?”

The first 8 verses of Psalms 44 reflect the Psalmist triumph over his enemies with the Lord. However beginning with verse 9 we see him reversing this sentiment and complaining about his situation. We will reflect on those verses in Part II.

Psalms 44: 1: “We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.” (Also see Psalms 80:8 God is our only hope for salvation).
In a figurative way David reflected back on the times of old before he was born. For the record when we accept the word of God we often say “we hear it.” See Hebrews 2: 1 for further insight on this message. Rest assured that the things of the past that we hear also are transmitted to future generations see the writings of the Apostles of Christ.

Meanwhile we find several powerful cross references to this verse at Psalms 78 where God continues to love us in spite of those that do not believe. Here the writer Asaph retells the history of the Jewish nation. We are to learn from our history that the Jews rebuked slavery and so do the other brethren that were once held captive.
Psalms 78: 2, 3, 12, 55: “I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
78:3: “Which we have heard and known, and our father have told us.”
78: 12: “Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.”
78: 55: “He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.”
Here we find revealed many important expressions about past events. Many of the things noted by David had occurred many years before and had been recorded. But the voice of history repeats itself time and time again thus rendering to mankind the importance of many things. “There is no poetry without history for without history there is nothing to write about.”

Now return to our primary scripture found at Psalms 44.

Psalms 44: 2-4: “How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.” (Also see Deuteronomy 7: 1).
The words heathen and people in this passage refer to the nations occupying the land in Canaan when the people of God reached that land. Meanwhile plantedst means that God planted his own people in the land.

44: 3: “For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.” (Also see Joshua 24: 12).
This passage does not mean that the Israelites did not use the sword. At this time the use of weapons were sanctioned by God in battle. However we must realize that their victory was rendered by God and not by the sword alone. (At Deuteronomy 4: 37 we see that there is only one God. Note the bracket of scriptures 32-40 for a word here. Also see Psalms 77: 15 do not forget God’s help in the past. If he did it then He will do it again. Glory to God).

44: 4: “Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.”
At this passage David tells us that God has the right to be the ruler over all that exists. With this power this same God could declare a victory for his people and render their enemies to shame.

Psalms 44: 5-6: “Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.” (Also see Dan 8: 4).
David had great confidence in victory over his enemies because he trusted in the Lord. We (FreedomJournal) also have great and exceeding trust in the Lord for our enemies will be the footstool of the oppressed the poor the downtrodden and the wretched of the earth. When things seem to be out of control we can always trust God. Psalms 60: 12: “Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.”

44: 6: “For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.” (Also see Hosea 1: 7).

Psalms 44: 7: “But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.”
Again we see David revealing that he relied not on the material weapons but on the Lord. See Psalms 53: 5 where we see another example of our duty to rely on the Lord for the victories in life and over death. At Psalms 136: 24 we see the never ending story of God’s love. “And he hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.”

Turn now to the concluding verse for the first part of the discussion of Psalms 44.

Psalms 44: 8: “In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah. (Also see Romans 2: 17).
The word boast at this passage of scripture is not used in a negative sense of one filled with pride. However it notes a debt of gratitude to the Lord.

Also see Psalms 30: 12: “To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”
All that truly love the Lord will sing His praises.

Finally see Psalms 34: 2: “My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.”
The righteous will praise the Lord and boast of His goodness. This testimony of the saints will be heard and the hope is that many will come running for Christ.
