Fyfe Company continues expansion in Pipeline Industry

March 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Fyfe Company, LLC (http://fyfeco.com), the global leader in the FRP strengthening industry, is pleased to announce the hire of Dr. Anna Pridmore as Vice President of the Water Transmission Structures Group. “Fyfe Company is the pioneer of this industry, and I am honored to join their organization during this exciting time of renewed interest in rehabilitation of aging infrastructure”, said Dr. Pridmore when asked about her recent appointment.
 
Fyfe Company and Fibrwrap Construction (http://fibrwrapconstruction.com) are the industry leaders in CFRP strengthening of pipelines, holding several related patents, and their experience will be instrumental in the improvement of safety and reliability for water supplies worldwide. Recently the company was awarded an $8.4 million grant by National Institute of Standards and Technology.  The NIST program will develop a robotic approach for rehabilitation of aging pipeline structures using Fyfe’s Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer technology.  This, along with increased demand in the municipal and industrial water markets, has lead to continued expansion of the Fyfe Group organization.
 
Dr. Pridmore brings with her over eight (8) years of extensive disciplinary and multidisciplinary research, in areas of civil infrastructure rehabilitation, composite mechanics and design, hybrid concrete/fiber reinforced polymer design, and structural interaction.  Dr. Pridmore received her Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and continues to serve as an instructor at UCSD, teaching a senior level course in composite mechanics.  Heath Carr, CEO of Fyfe Company, LLC added, “Dr. Pridmore’s role within our organization is to assist in defining the future of structural composites technology – we will continue to drive this industry, incorporating the best minds and strategies to develop unique solutions for structural strengthening applications.”
