“SPRING INTO ACTION”
FOOTHILL CULTURAL DISTRICT READIES FOR TRAVELERS

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Foothill Cultural District is an alliance of Utah’s premier cultural, historical and entertainment destinations, all within a two square mile area.  Within easy reach of downtown Salt Lake City and accessible by TRAX train, the district includes Hogle Zoo, This Is The Place Heritage Park, Fort Douglas Military Museum, Olympic Cauldron Park, Red Butte Garden & Arboretum, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and the Utah Museum of Natural History  and for the weary traveler, the University Guest House Hotel.
Last year alone, Foothill Cultural District’s members logged record-breaking attendance, attracted world renowned art exhibits, helped to unearth 213-million-year-old fossils of a previously unknown dinosaur, and birthed Zuri, a frisky African elephant.
Now, as spring nears, the District readies for yet another influx of national and international travelers attracted to the state’s stunning natural wonders.  Many collaborative events are planned, with new pioneer village and military museum exhibits, featured western art shows, the vast landscapes of native wildflowers, and other attractions designed to entertain, educate and awe youngsters and adults, alike.  And nowhere in the Intermountain West can the visitor find so much – with such ease – and for so little cost.
For an up-close Foothill Cultural District experience, go to its website, www.foothillcd.com, to download discount coupons or to take a look at what’s on the summer calendar.  Or link onto the Foothill V.TOUR for an aerial view of the district and its diverse and exciting destinations.
