March 4, 2010 - PRLog -- With the success of its ADSL offer, Bouygues Telecom is going to invest in very high speed broadband this year. The operator began building the network in Paris and is willing to invest tens of millions of euros, according to an officer.

Bouygues Telecom’s broadband offer is very successfull and attracted more customers than Iliad’s did last year. The Bbox had 311.000 subscribers in 2009, and the company decided to launch its own fibre optics network thanks to this success.

The company objects the decision by the French regulator ARCEP that allows multi fiber per apartment. The decision means that Bouygues Telecom has to deploy its own network to apartments or participate in funding. Martin Bouygues, claimed that this decision “seems to favor the position of the dominant operator”. He has threatened to complain to the State Council if ARCEP does not change its position.
