Do You Need Planning Permission for a Log Cabin?
The important question everyone asks when considering buying a log cabin is whether you
need planning permission.  When it comes to Dunster House, the answer is no (for most
cabins).  Since October 2008, there have been new Planning rules that state that the
building must not exceed 2.5 metres in height and not be within 2 metres of the fence,
hedge & wall, etc. Dunster House adapted very quickly, with the vast majority of their Log
Cabins being under 2.5m high and can promise that their cabins comply with these rules
and not just promise that the height of the eaves of the building don't exceed 2.5 metres - It
is important not to be misled by these rules.
