Vision Source Summerlin/Lakes Hosts March Madness Fashion Eyewear Event Wednesday, March 31, 2010
Vision Source will host a free trunk show offering shoppers big savings all day long on leading brand names and will debut the new line of Skecher's eyewear.

Shoppers can take advantage of big savings that are offered on the day of the event only. With the purchase of any frame, Vision Source Summerlin/Lakes is offering $99 off any bifocal, trifocal or progressive (no-line bifocal) lenses. For every additional purchase of frames and lenses, shoppers can save another 30 percent. In addition, those who purchase any type of frame will receive free glare-resistant single vision lenses, which have the same focal power throughout the lens and are a $219 value. Offers are not to be combined with insurance.
The event marks the debut of Skechers’ eyewear line, which is new for spring 2010. The collection takes its inspiration from the fashion-forward styling and attitude found in the brand’s footwear designs. The initial launch features themes that range from the vibrant colors of pop culture to the rebellious nature of the goth-lifestyle trend. The collection is categorized into four key trends—Age of Innocence, Tribal Tales, Disturbia and Energetic Soul. Each style reflects these up-to-the-minute looks with temple detailing, unique color palettes and specialized logo treatments.
Included in the men’s collection are classic aviator and pilot shapes, croc laser etchings, sun-weathered colors, metal hardware and graphic dragon elements. The brand’s gothic S logo is featured throughout the men’s collection. The women’s collection features organic metal cutouts, animal prints, graphic tattoo designs and vintage cat-eye shapes also infused with the Sketchers logo treatment.
Sunglasses serve an important role in protecting the health of the eye. The World Health Organization (WHO) notes that sun exposure, and in particular UVB rays, appear to be the major risk factor for cataract development, a disorder that results in the clouding of the lens of the eye. While many people believe they are only at risk on sunny days, UV rays can penetrate clouds and can thus affect eyes even when the sun isn’t out. When buying sunglasses, the American Optometric Association (AOA) suggests looking for ones that provide 99 to 100 percent protection from both UVA and UVB rays.
