Working Moms take legal matters into their own hands, open Family First Law Group, PLC

Genevieve H. Torres and Melanie Quattrone, both attorneys and both working moms started Family First Law Group, PLC because they’re passionate about the law, have families of their own and describe their mission and vision as helping to maintain the integrity of the family structure whenever possible.  

“There was a palpable difference in the way I was treated when I went back to my previous firm after six weeks of maternity leave,” said Torres, managing partner.  “I knew we could provide the same level of service to our clients, grounded in integrity, dedication and passion without feeling guilty if we had to take our children to a doctor’s appointment.”

Faced with the prospect of prolonged unemployment in this economy and the thought of being overly scrutinized for being “working moms” at new firms, Torres and Quattrone made the only move they felt they could; go it alone.  We knew we had the training and the tools,” said Quattrone, managing partner.  “The only thing stopping us was our own doubts.  Once we passed that hurdle, there weren’t any valid reasons why we shouldn’t move forward.”
