March 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Carol Gignoux, founder of ADD Insights, LLC and Dr. Jeffrey Speller of the New England ADHD Treatment Center are excited to announce a new five week seminar series entitled “Mastering One’s ADHD.”  This seminar series, which is open to the public, will touch on important issues for those with ADHD, or with loved ones who have ADHD.

Carol Gignoux, a well established expert within the ADHD field, will be discussing topics such as mastering one’s ADHD at work, in intimate relationships, as a parent, in communicating with others, and in organizing one’s home environment.

In this series of 5 interactive seminars, participants will personally explore and potentially learn to master some of their ADHD challenges. Participants will also develop a deeper understanding of the behavior and challenges faced by members of their families and co-workers. Attendees will take away some key insights, practices and strategies they can use to create a more promising future for themselves and others.

“We really wanted to make these classes affordable and available to the general public, as we believe the tools we plan to present will truly benefit those with ADHD and their loved ones,” say Carol Gignoux.

“I am really excited to be partnering with someone of Carol’s caliber here at the New England ADHD Treatment Center.  We believe our patients will gain insight and learn new skills that will enable them to move forward in their lives more confidently,” adds Dr. Speller.

ADHD, meaning “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder” is estimated to affect between 15-20 million American adults. The primary symptoms of ADHD are inattention, impulsivity and sometimes hyperactivity. The diagnosis of ADHD however is not based on the presence of these symptoms alone. Most people find themselves being distracted and impulsive, even hyperactive, at some points in their lives.  What distinguishes ADHD from “everyday” inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity is the severity, duration and scope of these symptoms, as well as how they affect a person’s everyday life.
