O2 Gets the Android Milestone - Motorola Milestone Released on O2

March 1, 2010 - PRLog -- The much in demand Mototola Milestone has now found a fourth network partner in O2, originally released as a SIM Free phone back in early January the Milestone has gone on to be launched on Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange pay monthly tariffs with just Virgin Mobile and 3 Mobile to follow.

There is also an expected release of the Motorola Milestone on Pay As You Go deals further down the line for those that do not want the commitment of a long term contract deal.

The Milestone is the first ever Android 2.0 powered mobile phone to be made available in the UK, known as the Motorola Droid in the US this powerful and fast handset also features a handy slide out Qwerty keyboard which is ideal for typing out web addresses, text messages, emails and those all important social network status updates.

There is fast access to sites like Facebook and Twitter with Android's own apps as well as plenty of third party offerings for keeping up to date with all your social networking friends.

On the rear of the Milestone is a good quality 5.0 mega pixel camera with a dual LED flash for low light photography, pictures can be instantly uploaded to sites like Facebook and Flickr or sent via Bluetooth or email to friends.

The Motorola Milestone also incorporates HSDPA technology for speedy downloads which makes downloading new applications from the Android Store a quick affair, when close to a WiFi hotspot the Milestone can log on and surfing the net can begin.

Although there are not currently any other Android 2.0 devices available the Motorola Milestone does stiull find some interesting competitors from other manufacturers, one big threat has to be the Google Nexus One but is a pricier handset although it does offer the Android 2.1 software as standard.

Others include the Nokia N900 which uses the new Maemo operating system whilst Sony Ericsson are putting their hopes in a range of new Android phones, those of interst include the Sony Ericsson X10, Sony X10 Mini and new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro all of which are due soon.
