Feb. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Systematics, Inc. (www.systematicsinc.com) is pleased to announce that it has finalized an agreement with LEID Products (www.leidproducts.com) to make the company its exclusive distributor in the Northeast for their Biometric Access Control Systems (BACS™) software.  The newly trademarked software developed by engineers at Auburn Hills, MI - Patti Engineering www.pattieng.com is receiving rave reviews from police chiefs throughout the country.

The Biometric Access Control System (BACS™) allows for electronic access utilizing biometric fingerprint and hand geometry readers as the personal access code or password. BACS then tracks critical asset contents with this high level of security and eliminates long-standing paper logs. The system individually secures any sized item from weapons and equipment within a law enforcement office to multiple personal effects.
Asset protection technology has also been applied to library systems for books, tapes, magazines or business documents for use by selected personnel. The automated (electronic) modular units/cabinets secure the item in a safe environment and the electronic system then tracks the access to the business assets.

“The BACS system has helped streamline operations for many law enforcement departments across the Northeast, saving them valuable employee time and resources while providing a reliable and credible data report” according to Tom Carmody, Director of Sales for Systematics. “BACS secures and tracks (via a RFID chip) and provides full accountability for critical assets” said Carmody. “Most importantly, the equipment or weapons are marked with an RFID chip linked to a kiosk where the user accesses the equipment by placing their finger on the biometric reader for verification. Then the user selects the authorized equipment or weapon listed on the touch screen” continues Carmody.

Law enforcement departments use a variety of highly technical equipment and weapons which they can’t afford to lose or misplace.  The old standard for tracking and reporting critical assets is usually a handwritten paper log, which is time intensive and lacks credibility.  The complete system with Biometric Access control Systems software (BACS™) can keep pace with new technology and has easy administrative access and navigation functions.

According to Georgia Whalen, Northeast Regional Business Development Manager for LEID Products “with the introduction of BACS, we have helped streamline operations at military facilities, law enforcement departments, universities/colleges, library systems, and large corporations by securing, tracking and providing full accountability to critical business assets. This system helps law enforcement departments throughout the country with full accountability of their armory and a credible history report that links officers to their assigned equipment”.
