Women's Group Issues an S.O.S

Feb. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Durham, NC – Dress for Success®, an international non-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women, announces February 25-28 as S.O.S. – Send One Suit – Weekend SM. Women nationwide are encouraged to donate one new or nearly-new interview suit to help another woman enter the workforce and take charge of her life.

“Last year’s drive enabled us to suit approximately 50 women,” said Pat Nathan, founder of Dress for Success® Triangle. “Your generous donations have enabled our clients to walk into an interview with confidence and leave with hope.”

Local affiliate Dress for Success Triangle has served over 600 Triangle women since its doors opened in June 2008. Many who have walked into the Durham and Raleigh career centers are now employed and are working towards independence and self-sufficiency.

Suits can be donated at any dressbarn store (see list below) during S.O.S. - Send One Suit – Weekend SM.  More than 200,000 suits and separates have already been donated by consumers at dressbarn stores during this campaign over the past seven years. The donations will be distributed to Dress for Success affiliates located throughout the United States. On average, more than 20% of each affiliate’s annual suiting needs are met through S.O.S –Send One Suit- Weekend SM.

Donations may also be made directly to Dress for Success Triangle. In addition to new or nearly new suiting, the organization is also accepting professional accessories such as costume jewelry, scarves, pumps and handbags.
