Cool Luxury at its most Refined

Jan. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- cfes Air Conditioning, a division of cfes Ltd, has successfully completed the air conditioning installation of one of the most exclusive addresses in south west London. In their first development project for Baynham Couldridge, the luxury property developers, cfes specified, supplied and installed a comprehensive but discrete air conditioning system into a prestigious Fulham ‘Lion House’.

The development of this magnificent family home, situated at 57 Chipstead Street, delivered the most refined example of ‘Lion’ house living available. The original Victorian features on the exterior have been retained whilst offering a modern state of the art finish internally.

The project was required to provide the utmost luxury throughout and the highest quality fixtures, fittings and technology delivered in a subtle manner to preserve the aesthetics of the house. State of the art home automation was required to give the house unparalleled quality and cfes liased with the home automation contractor to fully integrate the controls of the air conditioning.

Baynham Couldridge identified cfes as a company with a proven track record for delivering high quality air conditioning installations into high-level residential developments. cfes provided the optimum air conditioning application to create the desired solution at a competitive price. Their record of quality installations demonstrates they have the skills and knowledge to identify the ideal cooling solution that was required within the 3300 sq ft re-development.

The cfes team managed all elements of the project providing a complete package in terms of the air conditioning. They were supplied with construction drawings and created a design to meet the cooling and heating requirements whilst co-ordinating this with the interior design.

All Baynham Couldridge developments are completed to the highest possible standards and air conditioning is no exception. They specifically required the air conditioning to be as unobtrusive as possible and cfes worked with the client to develop a solution to this whilst ensuring appropriate access for service and maintenance. Using knowledge gained on similar luxury developments the systems were installed to be aesthetically pleasing with air conditioning units integrated into bespoke joinery and custom-made grills used to dispel the conditioned air.

In the formal dining and reception room climate control was hidden within full height walnut veneered joinery. cfes worked closely with the joiner to ensure that this integration was seamless. Units were installed within bespoke joinery throughout the property to create a superior internal finish. This was complimented with un-intrusive pipework installation throughout.

The client required the development to offer the highest quality modern living and this had to be taken into account when specifying the air conditioning system. To ensure minimal operating noise all systems were gravity fed and no condensate pumps were used. In addition to this the air conditioning equipment specified was designed to run on low fan speed to ensure minimal noise levels and maximum energy efficiency, which was particularly important in the bedrooms.

cfes supplied and installed two Toshiba Mini SMMS VRF outdoor units and seven floor standing chassis units with A class efficiency rating using environmentally conscious zero ozone depleting refrigerant (R410A). These provide a total cooling capacity of 20KW.

Air conditioning has become a must have feature of many modern homes but this development was taken to the next level by integrating the air conditioning with a Home Automation System (HAS). This enables different rooms within the property to be kept at specific temperatures depending on the occupier’s preferences. The HAS provides state of the art controls for the air conditioning and all other building services within the property.

cfes were just one of the sub contractors on-site and had to work efficiently to a designed program to prevent any delays. They provided a flexible approach to the works carried out and some unforeseen events on site meant that works had to be delayed or fitted in around other trades. cfes managed this effectively and completed the works to an exceptional standard whilst remaining flexible to changes in schedule. They worked in phases within the developers plan and the project was successfully completed to deadline.

Budget is always a significant factor of any construction project and cfes were required to keep costs to a minimum. All works were delivered on budget without compromising the quality of finish.

Dedication to the perfect finish is what defines each Baynham Couldridge project and cfes were required to deliver this at Chipstead Street. Although this was the first project in which cfes worked with Baynham Couldridge, the successful completion and high standard of delivery has led to their involvement in two adittional Lion house projects.
