RedCritter Releases First Microsoft Windows Desktop Search SDK for Silverlight

Jan. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Today RedCritter Corp. announced support for Windows Desktop Search (WDS) in its free RedCritter™ SDK for Silverlight. RedCritter is a platform for Silverlight developers to build Apps that run inside Microsoft Outlook. The RedCritter SDK with WDS functionality allows Silverlight developers to create Apps that instantly find documents, email and attachments related to Outlook email and contacts.

Combining WDS with the RedCritter SDK allows Apps to go way beyond simply locating files within the Outlook inbox. Documents can be discovered on the user’s PC, the company network and even within Microsoft SharePoint. Full search of the entire document content, and of course the title, is supported. This means PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other types of documents can quickly and easily be brought to the user if they are relevant.
