Lokesh Announces One Year of Grayboxx.com Management

Jan. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Noida, UP India - Lokesh PVt. Ltd. announces its first year of management of Grayboxx, a leading US business directory website.  One year ago, Lokesh acquired Grayboxx.com from grayboxx, Inc., a high-tech startup based in Saratoga, California.  Since then, under Lokesh's management, grayboxx.com has moved to faster servers delivering better performance, and has improved the user experience including adding a search feature across yellow pages listings.  
   
The Grayboxx local site had been featured on sites such as CNET and Wired when it first launched.  However, the site had not been actively managed for six months when it was acquired by Lokesh.  

“The focus when we acquired Grayboxx was to get it back to its original working condition - running at an acceptable speed.  We accomplished this by moving it to faster servers, cleaning up the code base, and reducing the graphics load", said Sandeep Chaudhary, Operational Manager of grayboxx.com. “Beyond improving performance, we added a search feature to the site so that users can find particular businesses or categories of businesses that they're looking for.”

Grayboxx Local Search was established in 2005 and when launched, it focused on rating local businesses by what it called "implicit endorsements", or evaluating the frequency businesses were referenced in user data such as e-mail address books and cell phone contact lists.  Currently, the emphasis of Grayboxx (http://www.grayboxx.com) is to provide complete business data on more than 20 million local businesses across the United States.  The company plans in 2010 to expand into Canada and Mexico.    

“Today, over 10% of our searches on Grayboxx comes from Canada and Mexico.  In some cases, these users are looking for US businesses, but in most cases they are looking for restaurants or contractors in their own country.  We expect to add at least partial coverage of Canadian and Mexican businesses to Grayboxx within 2010”, said Chaudhary.

The Noida-based company expects to both expand its local search offering through Grayboxx and also widen its Internet portfolio through acquisition of US Internet properties, with an eye towards database-driven websites containing unique, compelling content.
