Step 1: How to put MP3s in your r4 ds.

1. First of all,with your microSD card in the PC,open the “system” folder. Inside you’ll see a bunch of folders like “ebooks” “themes” and “movies”.
2.  Create a new folder named “music”;
3. Choose MP3s you’ld like to listen to. Drag those to the newly created “music” folder.
4. Insert the micrsSD Card in your r4ds and when the selection screen with “GAMES” “MEDIA” and “SLOT-2″ appears,select “MEDIA”. This will start up moonshell.
5. Don’t worry about the error message. This is normal. If there’s nothing wrong,the error message will disappear.
Step 2.

Selecting media starts up moonshell. Don’t worry if you get the error message. Now what I should do is to select the systme lile. Remember the “Music” folder that you created? browse to that folder and click it to open it. Your should see the MP3s.

Step 3.

Ok,so now we are in our music folder with the MP3s. Click on a song to play it. It’s that simple. Sometimes when you first start an MP3 you can’t hear anaything. Use the “X” button on your DS to increase the volume. “Y” decreases the volume.

Step 4.

This is the bottom screen. Don’t worry if you get this message. It just means that the ID tags for the MP3 has no information. Nothing to be worried about.
Note that I turned up my volume to 162.

Step 5.

This is a song with an Id tag. It just shows information about the MP3. Nothing to worry about if it is missing. The MP3 will still play just fine.
I recommend using earphones since the DS speakers aren’t that great.

Here are two very important poings you should pay close attention to. If not, you will fail in your playing music on R4 card.

The first one is that the R4 will only accept MP3 format files! It do not accept wma or mp4 stuff. So please remember that only MP3 is available. So check your filename extensions to make sure that it is in the mp3 format.
