New Adventure Company Wants Madison to Go Outside

Jan. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Mountain Lake Adventures has started offering social adventure trips like snowshoeing on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail or ice climbing in Governor Dodge state park in order to help people get out of town and meet people with a similar interest in the outdoors.

As the company begins to stretch its legs, trips are being offered mostly on weekends and the occasional weekday to areas within an hour drive of Madison.  "The goal for us is to really get people to go out and discover what's in their own backyard and meet some cool people in the process," says founder Ryan Schmudlach. "Wisconsin has an almost unbelievable amount of access to a surprising number of recreational activities and we want people to know that."

Trips are continually listed on the company's website where people can register online as well as learn more about the company and its partners.  Mountain Lake Adventures then takes care of the rest, including transportation to and from destinations which usually include tours of our local breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Although family focused trips are in the works, currently, the company limits signups to people aged 21 years and older with a focus on young professionals in their 20s and 30s.

"Anyone that's spent time in the outdoors knows the appeal and anyone that's spent time in the outdoors with friends has an experience they've never forgotten," Schmudlach says.  "We're just doing our best to facilitate those experiences."
