| IJIS Institute Welcomes Kathy Gattin as Project ManagerThe IJIS Institute is pleased to welcome Ms. Kathy Gattin to the staff as a senior project manager, overseeing the Statewide Automated Victim Information Notification project as well as projects related to corrections information sharing initiatives.
By: IJIS Institute Kathy Gattin comes to the IJIS Institute from the Information Services Division of the Arkansas Department of Correction as the application systems administrator, where she worked since 2005. Her experience in criminal justice includes five years with the Arkansas Crime Information Center as the victim and offender information services manager for the statewide Arkansas VINE™ Program. She also served as a truancy/intake officer for the juvenile justice system in the 22nd Judicial District of Arkansas, as a staff assistant to the Arkansas Speaker’s Office, House of Representatives, 88th Arkansas General Assembly. Ms. Gattin was the state’s integrated justice program manager in the Arkansas Chief Information Executive’s Office of Information Technology in 2004 and 2005. Her background also includes law enforcement, having worked as a crime scene search unit investigator in the Detective Division of the Little Rock Police Department. In 2003, Ms. Gattin co-founded an Arkansas nonprofit organization called the Crime Victims Assistance Association of Arkansas (CVAAA). In 2007, she was elected to serve on the Executive Board of the Corrections Technology Association (CTA), and currently serves as the CTA Board President for 2010. Ms. Gattin holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and an associate’s degree in law enforcement from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
