Commemorative Shadow Boxes Use Iraqi Coins to Help Support American Veterans

They're giving people unique way to celebrate and support America’s veterans. The company is selling commemorative shadow boxes with uncirculated Iraqi coins and donating part of the proceeds to help injured Iraq War veterans and other veterans.

Dec. 23, 2009 - PRLog -- An Illinois-based Security Protectors is taking a bold stand to honor and support America’s veterans. The company, which offers a variety of safety products, is selling handcrafted shadow boxes featuring Iraqi coins and is donating 20 percent of its gross revenues to help seriously-injured Iraq War veterans and other veterans.

“Authentic collectible Iraqi coins are placed in beautiful wood-framed, glass-covered display boxes with full-color patriotic symbols, making a magnificent presentation ready to hang on the wall or place on a fireplace mantle or shelf,” said Security Protectors President, John Audlee Jr. “The frame is real wood, polished to a perfect sheen, and the displays are assembled right here in America.”

Security Protectors is offering the shadow boxes through a special arrangement with Products for Good, whose national spokesperson is patriotic singer Lee Greenwood. Products for Good—which is committed to raising more than $20 million for the families of America’s fallen and wounded heroes—has purchased more than 70,000 pounds of uncirculated Iraqi coins that were decommissioned by Saddam Hussein at the end of the first Gulf War. Now, these coins are forming the centerpiece of shadow boxes that are benefitting American veterans and their families.

The collectable coins are mounted with gloved hands inside the shadow boxes, along with symbols that represent American patriotism. Inside each display case, the word “freedom” is listed in Arabic with several definitions. There are two styles of boxes available: a two-coin Patriotic option and a four-coin White House Edition version. Incidentally, one of the shadow boxes was presented to President George W. Bush and is being displayed in the Whitehouse today.

Selling the shadow boxes is a way to give back to America’s veterans and their families. And it is only fitting for Audlee, a staunch patriot whose two brothers fought in Iraq Wars and father served on the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team in the Korean War. Audlee is proud of all veterans and feels they are heroes who should be honored—and not just on Veteran’s Day. “The protection they offer and their service to our country is worth far more than their pay,” he said. “We are free people because they served.”

Soldiers need the country’s support, particularly after they return home from war, according to Audlee. That is why he has dedicated his Website, WeLoveYouSoldiers.com, to all veterans and is donating a percentage of its shadow box sales for their benefit. “Let Saddam Hussein help us support our vets by purchasing his former assets,” Audlee said. “Buy one for a dear friend, a war vet, your dad, mother, brother, sister, daughter and son. These coins are going fast, and we will sell out, but I’m glad Saddam Hussein isn’t making any more.”

The commemorative shadow boxes are available online for shipment worldwide. For more information, please visit www.WeLoveYouSoldiers.com or contact John Audlee at (847) 393-4442.
