| Plantasia closed between 4 and 18 January 2010Plantasia in Swansea is closing between 4 and 18 January 2010 for essential maintenance.
By: Swansea Council The facility will close between 4 and 18 January 2010 to allow work on the climate control system which makes life comfortable for the animals and plants in the Council-run facility. The annual maintenance is essential to ensure that Plantasia’s tropical, arid and humid climate zones are meticulously maintained. The computerised system is connected to the weather station on the top of the pyramid-shaped building which houses the attraction. Rare monkeys, giant insects, snakes and exotic birds are among the resident attractions at Plantasia, and the work will be completed before the return of the popular Animal Antics extravaganza in February. Booking is essential for the three day show which gives the whole family the chance to handle rainforest creatures such as spiders, snakes and birds of prey. Plantasia’s Manager Claire Riordan said: "Plantasia is a much-loved attraction that offers something very unique in the city. The exciting “Animal Antics” sessions feature creatures of the rainforest, and provide an excellent interactive experience.” For further information and bookings visit www.plantasia.org or telephone 01792 474555. # # # News about activities, events and attractions in Swansea, Wales, UK.
