Working From Home and Earning Extra Income In Michigan

Dec. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- If you live in Michigan, like I do, then you know how dismal the job market is. And it doesn't look like it will get better anytime soon. The unemployment rate is 15 percent. That's 15% of the state's population are unemployed. They say that it's the worst it's been since 1983.

I was one of those who lost my job, even before the recession, as Michigan started to feel the effects of the beginning of the auto industry's decline into a situation where bankruptcy and government bail-outs were the only option.

I wasn't about to throw in the towel.


Something had to change...


I did what many would perceive as insane in such an economy, I started my own business.
It all started when I went online to find a way to make money from home. I tried just about everything. Surveys, getting paid to read emails, and many others I care not to mention.

Then I became a distributor for a well known health and wellness company. But, after struggling for awhile and learning some things about network marketing and compensation plans, I realized that it would take hundreds of distributors in my downline before I could even approach an income I could live on. Thousands to make the kind of money they told me I could make. The cards seemed stacked against me, so I continued my search.

I came across a video from a young guy who said he had the answer. Well, I'd heard that several times before so I was sceptical. But, there was something different about this guy. I believed him. I truly felt I could trust him. It was around that time that I had read a report about the network marketing industry, which subsequently had helped me decide to leave my position as a distributor for the health and wellness company. It explained a change that was happening in the home business arena that couldn't be ignored. How the traditional network marketing business model was quickly becoming outdated.

As it turned out, the report was referring to the business model of the company that young guy in the video actually owned. In fact there was a link to that exact same video with the free report.

Coincidence, or fate?

Either way, after reading that report and watching that video several times, I felt that I had stumbled upon something that could actually work for me. So, I looked into it.

I went through their application process. This wasn't the typical home business opportunity I was used to dealing with. They had a screening process to weed out the tire kickers and get-rich-quick seekers. They even had a professional sales team to close your sales for you and answer all your prospects' questions. This was also a complete marketing education program complete with in depth training for all aspects of internet and offline marketing. I was blown away!

Even though, at the time I could not afford to get involved, I stayed in contact with my potential sponsor and squirreled away as much money as I could.

In November of 2008, I finally was able to join. Because of my financial state, I could not afford to do a lot of the things that were suggested. But, I improvised and took a lot of time to just learn everything I could from them, and from other sources, and honed my marketing skills.

Almost one year later, I have finally arrived! I can finally begin to live the life of my dreams. It has been a long, rough road. But, I wouldn't have had it any other way. It forced me out of my comfort zone. It challenged me to overcome obstacles and to truly appreciate the success I am starting to have today.

Do I wish I could have hit the ground running and been able to afford to implement everything that this awesome system had to offer? Been able to hire the professional people they had in house to do the hard stuff for me?

Sure. That would have been great! But, my experiences have made me stronger, more resilient and have given me an education worth far more than the price tag of the training and the opportunity that I chose to be a part of.
