Dec. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- It hit the headlines recently with its giant killing tactics by introducing some of the cheapest tariffs in the UK - surprisingly undercutting the larger and more powerful domestic energy suppliers such as British Gas and Scottish Power.

First Utility is based in the Midlands - Warwick to be precise - and has the majority of its energy customers in the Midlands area.  First Utility customers in the Midlands have benefitted form the company's innovative roll out of its Smart Metering system which automatically records and sends meter readings to the supplier resulting in very accurate bills for the customer.

It was shortlisted for the Housebuilding Innovation Awards in August 2009 and went on to win the Housing Product of the Year 2009 in London.

It supplies, gas, electricity, phone and broadband services to a range of domestic and business customers, yet only in the Midlands can customers benefit from their smart metering.  Customers in other parts of the UK can take advanatage of their cheap paperless billing tarfifs with standard meters.

Energyhelpline have given First Utility a 1 out of 5 rating when it comes to customer service and application processing and other customer service activitys.

Customer wanting to take advanatge of First Utility's price busting tariffs will be subjected to a stringent credit check  - currently this is resulting in a high rate of application failure - and their tariffs are available to home owners only.

First Utility is also a Carbon Neutral company.
