AirPcap Wireless Packet Capture and Injection Tools launched in Canada

Dec. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Futura GTS today announced a partnership with CACE Technologies to improve availability of their wireless network packet capture adapters in the Canadian market.  AirPcap adapters are USB-based and capture full 802.11 data, management, and control frames. They range from an 802.11b/g capture-only adapter (AirPcap Classic) to an 802.11a/b/g/n capture and injection adapter with two external MC-Card connectors for optional antennas (AirPcap Nx).  AirPcap adapters are fully integrated with Wireshark, allowing you to leverage the world’s most widely-deployed network analyzer.

AirPcap  Advantages
- Support for external antennas. This is a biggie: any serious capture adapter needs to have it.

- The AirPcap adapters are capable of packet analysis in the 4.9 GHz band, and in many non-standard 5GHz bands
- Replay/injection feature. Useful for testing. There are a bunch of free tools that use this feature (e.g. Aircrack NG, Cain & Abel).
