DiSTI’s GL Studio Now Seamlessly Integrates with GenesisRTX

The GL studio Heads-up Display (HUD) integrated within Diamond Visionics’ GenesisRTX visual database for the G Cueing Motion Simulator will be showcased by EDM at this year’s Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC). The tradeshow, held in Orlando, Florida, will also showcase nearly twenty other products utilizing GL Studio based content.

EDM’s ‘G Seat’ motion simulator exhibit will allow occupants to “fly” the seat based on integrations with a high performance flight model by J2 Aircraft Dynamics, a visual projection system by Mersive and a high fidelity GenesisRTX visual database by Diamond Visionics.

The advanced ‘G Seat’ motion simulator has resulted from a cohesive team effort involving multiple UK and U.S. based simulation companies, each adding their own unique expertise. “DiSTI is committed to breaking integration boundaries through team efforts and strategic partnerships,” said DiSTI President Joe Swinski. “The opportunity to integrate with Diamond Visionics’ GenesisRTX 3D viewer so quickly proves the capabilities of GL Studio.”

Integrating a GL Studio F-16 HUD with the dynamic GenesisRTX visual database creates an unparalleled high-fidelity experience within the simulator. "We went from no HUD capability to a fully integrated GL Studio HUD in our new GenesisRTX 3D viewer in a very short time,” remarked Diamond Visionics President Dave Gdovin. “GL Studio's mature and well documented COTS software coupled with great engineering back up, saved us time and money."

The final G Cueing Motion Simulator incorporates electric actuators to provide “movement” within various parts of the seat, simulating realistic actions of the aircraft within the simulated environment. Together with highly realistic visual and sound effects, and often a simulated anti-g suit, the pilot is surrounded by a highly sensory environment in order to effectively train for in-flight demands.
