Collective Renaissance Guild to Honor Nicole Ari Parker & Rainforest Films Will Packer & Rob Hardy

Nov. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- The Collective Renaissance Guild (CRG), a non-profit organization comprised of young professionals, will hold its second annual Winter Ball at the beautiful Persian Galleries, 2860 Piedmont Rd., N.E. Atlanta, GA 30305, Saturday, December, 5, 2009 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Special guests from the Atlanta business, entertainment and political communities, along with celebrities will join CRG to commemorate actress Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe and Rainforest Films’ Will Packer and Rob Hardy for their artistic innovation and contributions to film.

Themed Make Believe, the ball will reflect the hospitality and warmth of the Arabian influence, with its rich and glorious cultural heritage. Guests will enjoy a Persian-styled atmosphere surrounded by unique tapestries, entertained by exotic belly dancers, fire performers, live carpet looming and more throughout the evening. Fine delicacies will be provided Rumi’s Kitchen in addition to an open bar sponsored by Hennessy Black. Poet, Hank Stewart will add his interpretation of artistic innovation to the evening sharing his tribute to the 2009 honorees.

As filmmaking has taken on new strides in the Atlanta community, CRG wants to highlight those who have contributed to film and who continue to help the Atlanta film industry flourish. Actress and former model, Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe has appeared in several independent films and mainstream movies, but she is most recognized for her breakthrough role as “Terri” in the television series Soul Food. Will Packer and Rob Hardy, both co-founders of Rainforest Films’, an Atlanta-based production company, have produced a myriad of films including two box office films; Stomp the Yard and This Christmas; both collectively grossing over $100 million in one year. The duo is also responsible for films such as Obsessed starring Beyonce Knowles and The Gospel. Currently, they are filming Stomp the Yard 2 and Hardy is directing network television shows, including the Emmy Award winning ER, Criminal Minds and webisodes for NBC’s Heroes.  

The 2008 Winter Ball attendance included notables such as Dr. Cornel West, Ambassador Andrew Young, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton, Kenny Burns, Yung Joc, Kevin “Shékspere” Briggs, Style Expert Middleman, Super Producer Brian Michael Cox, Commissioner Lee May, Mayoral Candidate Kasim Reed, Chaka Zulu of DTP, and more.
