DailyCheckout.com brings popular, high-quality items to the masses at prices well below MSRP. How do they do it? By buying in bulk and through various distributors world-wide. “The idea behind DailyCheckout was simple,” according to Charlie Shrem, Marketing Director. “In this economy, why pay 3 or 4 times the actual cost of the item? Through our relationships with distributors and wholesalers, we’re able to sell items for every age, male and female. Sometimes, we even offer items for free, just pay the postage,” he added.

Unlike other Internet closeout sellers, which sell thousands of different items, DailyCheckout.com sells one item a day. Items previously sold include consumer electronics, personal care, home and garden, toys and jewelry. Each item is put on sale at midnight and the “deal” lasts for 24 hours (unless the item sells out before that time.) There is a countdown clock on the front page of the website. Scroll down and the consumer can see videos of Charlie Shrem himself explaining the items, showing how they’re used, what comes in the package. The videos are entertaining, explanatory, and also give the consumer a face to put with the company. “We’re here, you can get in touch with us,” Shrem says. “If you send an email or call us with a question, you get an actual person to deal with.” You can also see the brains behind the operation in the daily video. These videos, starring Shrem himself as the pitchman, shows each item for sale and a demonstration of how it’s used, infused with humor and jocularity.

In just 3 months of operation, they have worked hundreds of Daily Deals, and have a subscriber list of over 5000 people. Many of their customers are repeat buyers. Shrem commends the company’s excellent customer service, as well as heeding the wants of their customer base. “People will write to us and on our blog about the types of things they want to buy. We accommodate them as best as we can,” says Shrem. “I’m a customer, too, so I try to supply things people want, need and can use.”
