Nov. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- According to price comparison site seeus2save.com, many people leave computers, TV's and DVD players on standby instead of switched off.  This adds up to 4 milion tonnes in CO2 emissions and £740m in wasted energy.

The survey asked 1800 people whether they switch their television off before going to bed, something which could save a consumer £40 a year.  The company suggests these are some of the simplest ways to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.

Managing Director Tony Evans said, "We were amazed that so many people did not do such a simple thing which could save them enough money for a nice meal out or a couple of extra Christmas presents for friends.

"With money so tight at the moment we want to make people aware of how a simple behavioural change can save them money."

"We've already saved our customers more than £1.5 million pounds on their bills this year and people who call us are able to speak directly with an operator, which sets us apart from our compeititors.".
