You want to start making like minded friends and start joining like minded groups. Groups are great, as soon as you start joining groups you will start to get friend requests, left, right and centre. The most groups you can join are 250, so that should keep you busy for a while.
When you what to add friends, you should do around 30 max a day, if not Facebook starts to think you are some kind of spammer (which you are not) and will then delete your account. Within time you will start to see your friends list building and when you reach the magic 5000 friends, Facebook will not let you add any more. (How cruel) But don’t worry; when you are in the process in getting your 5000 friends you can create a group and a Facebook page which well let you create even more friends.

Now you really have to master how to market on Facebook, you just can not go posting your landing page to every Tom,Dick & Harry. What you need to do is to add value, by posting quotes in your status, posting links to your blog which has great value, and so on. Never ever pitch on Facebook this will turn people off and then they will block you. Again be carful on how many posts you put and other people’s walls or groups as Facebook again will see this as spamming and will suspend your account, do around 5 posts a day.

Its O.K. when you post value on your profile status, there is no limit on how many posts you can do on your wall, but don’t go O.T.T. and post something every 5 mins as again this will turn people off. Do a post around every 2 to 3 hours.

Also remember that Facebook is not just about business, it is also about you!! Put photos of your family, post stuff about what you are doing with your family, what film you just watched, you then took the dog down the park, etc. People will then see you are not just about business, and will be able to see the lifestyle you have.

Don’t forget to edited about you profile, books, films, interests, web links and so on. This way people again will be able to see you are a real person. Remember, this is an opportunity for people to get to know the "real you," and begin relating to you as a person, before they begin doing business with you.
If you have a Twitter account you can link it to your Facebook profile. When you update what you are doing on Twitter, it will also update on Facebook.
