New Warehouse Doubles the Size of Crown Shanghai's Operations

Oct. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- The Crown Worldwide Group, a worldwide leader of global mobility, relocation services, information management and high value logistics, announced the completion of its newly expanded warehouse and office complex in Shanghai.

In 2005, Crown completed the construction of a three-story building in Shanghai. In 2009, in line with the growth and success in the region, Crown completed the expansion of the facility. This modern building marks the end of the second phase of Crown's expansion project in Shanghai's logistics development zone.

The building is now twice its original size, at 18,000 square meters (almost 200,000 square feet), and has many new features which provide a full range of services including moving, relocation services, storage, fine arts, records management as well as third party distribution logistics for hotels and retailers.

The facility, standing 24 meters tall (approximately 78 feet), features a Regional Distribution Center which provides warehousing, inventory management and nationwide distribution serving clients such as  Fendi of the LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) and Giorgio Armani. A Wine Cellar was also incorporated into the building, which joins Crown's Wine Cellars in Hong Kong and Beijing, providing storage, long-term maturation and a private member's clubhouse.

A celebratory opening event was held on September 25, 2009, at Crown Shanghai Wine Cellars for approximately 180 guests. Scott Piusz, general manager of Shanghai's moving division added, "This grand opening of Crown Shanghai's Phase II facility is a perfect example of what we are striving to achieve. Using our unique facilities and newly established niche logistics divisions to create a community gathering that brings professionals from all fields together.
