Coconut Grove Ballet to Perform Nutcracker

Oct. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Coconut Grove Ballet, located at 2829 Bird Avenue, Coconut Grove, FL, has been invited to perform with the St. Petersburg Classic Ballet Theatre of Russia, in their performance of the Nutcracker.  There will be two performances; a matinee & evening performance, which will take place December 20, 2009 at the Dade County Auditorium.

Coconut Grove Ballet  has nurtured young students since being established in 1997 and over the years has helped students grow both technically and personally. As many of the students will attest, being part of Coconut Grove Ballet is like being part of a family. Students are not only taught various dance forms but learn cooperation, respect for others and responsibility; with many going on to become part of the School’s Performing Company.

Instilling the belief of giving back to the community the Company, led by Artistic Director Doris Noriega, performs numerous times during the year at community & charitable events. These events include The Fair, The Coconut Grove Arts Festival, & the Transplant Foundation’s Taste of Love. In addition to community events, the Company  also perform at several local schools and  participate several times during the year at Dance Competitions where they have consistently won top honors; bringing home Gold to Platinum Awards, as well as scholarships and invitations to National Competitions. During the current dance year, the company will be adding a new venue to their roster, as they have been invited to perform at Walt Disney World’s Magic Music Days in April 2010.
