Another surf season is soon underway! After a few good breaks over the summer, everyone is itching to get out there this winter. We have a new website, updated for your viewing pleasure! Redesigned for all your surf vacation needs, check out photos, get contact information, find a yoga class, and book a surf adventure in Rincon, Puerto Rico all in one spot.  Hurry now and receive 10% off lessons if booked before October 31st!

The Rincon Surf School was established to provide a safe, professional way for everybody to enjoy everything that surfing has to offer. We offer smaller group lessons to provide more personal surfing instruction. Groups have a student/coach ratio of up to 5:1 and 2 groups maximum. This maximizes the safety, of our lessons. Enjoyment and safety of surfers are the main priorities here at the Rincon Surf School .

The group lessons start at 9 a .m. But don’t worry about getting your early morning cup of coffee, enjoy some free at the surf school while checking in!

Each Surf lesson includes:

Surfboard and surf leash
Quality coaching from experienced, fully qualified surf instructors
Theory and practice.
Safety and etiquette
Structured fun surf classes
Fun and enjoyment

1 to 5 day group programs
Price: starting from $95 per person  (the price dose not include 7% tax)


Private Surf Lessons

Privates are based on two persons. If it is a single person. It would be a two-person rate.  
Group Privates up to 4 persons $75 each person
The Rincon Surf School and Board would like to welcome two new surf instructors to the team! Both new to Rincon, and transplanted to the states, they’re eager to get in the water and teach new surfers how to ride the waves.  Welcome James Seth-Ward and Brian Young to the site!

James moved here in August of 2009 after visiting Rincon in February with his fiancé and a group of buddies for a surf trip. He fell in love with the island of Puerto Rico and the rest is history. He is from the Gulf Coast of Florida, familiar with surfing the small breaks during hurricane swells that make their way towards the retirement town of Sarasota . James has experience teaching the beginner the essential basics of surfing. He’s eager to work with travelers coming from all over the world and have fun out there in the water.

Brian is from Seattle , Washington . He’s traveled from the cold waters of the Pacific all the way down to Panama . An avid sailor and captain, his love of the water brought him to Rincon. After owning a surf shop in Costa Rica , he traveled to Mexico for awhile, and eventually ended up here in Rincon. His knowledge of the waves and experience surfing the bigger breaks in Rincon are well suited for beginners as well as intermediate surfers looking to advance their skills.

There is also a new yoga instructor in the mix; Shannon Lyons, a recent college graduate who recently moved with James, the surf instructor. She completed her yoga teacher training in Orlando , Fl. She is now a registered yoga teacher and member of the Yoga Alliance. Having taught in Sarasota , Fl. She has experience teaching beginners in Hatha Yoga, a practice that focuses on poses, breathing, and meditation. Her classes will be catered towards people seeking to move their bodies and feel relaxation. She also works with students interested in stretching and conditioning for surfing; book a surf lesson with the yoga lesson together for a healthy, well-rounded day. She will hold classes Monday through Saturday at 9 a .m. as well as evening classes on the yoga deck or the beach.
