Oct. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- CCS Presentation Systems, the largest integrator of audio and visual equipment in the Southwest, today announced the winner of its first “Design Your Ideal Classroom” technology grant program, which provides the opportunity for any K-12 educator to apply for the chance to win a technology infused classroom and training worth thousands of dollars.

The winning teacher will be recognized at a school staff meeting at Superstition Springs Elementary School located at 7125 E. Monterey in Mesa at 10:30am on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

CCS awarded a $20,000 technology grant to Valerie Gresser, a first grade teacher at Superstition Springs Elementary School, part of Gilbert Public Schools.  Ms. Gresser’s winning design focused on providing hands-on, interactive learning to students using the latest classroom technology with the goal of improving students’ learning comprehension.  CCS will provide installation, certified training and technology for the 2009-10 school year.  CCS will award the following equipment:

•   SMART Board – interactive whiteboard
•   NEC Projector
•   eInstruction Student Response System
•   Mobi Wireless Slate
•   AVerMedia Document Camera
•   Audio Enhancement System
•   RM Tuff Cam – digital/video cameras
•   Epson Color Printer
•   SMART Table

CCS collected grant applications between March and June 2009 and the winner was selected in July.  Although CCS currently works with school districts throughout Maricopa County, this was the first time CCS requested classroom design proposals from local educators.  Educator responses to the request outlined ideas to integrate education technology to improve teaching methods, while introducing new programs to students.

John Godbout, founder and CEO of CCS Presentation Systems, stated: “CCS is always interested to hear teachers’ plans and ideas on integrating the latest state-of-the-art technology to better educate students.  With this grant, CCS hopes to inspire schools and provide teachers the chance to create innovative programs through technology that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to fund.”

CCS is an innovator in audio/visual training among educators and corporate professionals.  CCS trains more than 3,000 educators each year through its centers in Scottsdale and Tucson and through its Mobile Training Center, which debuted in March 2007. CCS instructors teach administration and faculty members to use interactive whiteboards, projectors, document cameras, digital and video cameras, audience response systems and more.
