seeus2save.com - Energy Saving Week - The Energy Saving Trust Recommends Moving To A Greener Tariff.

Apart from recycling and policing the standby buttons on yours and your kid's appliances, consoles, chargers etc, one of the easiest ways of reducing your carbon footprint is to simply move to a greener tariff.

Oct. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Many customers are unaware that energy companies have green options available that don't necessarily mean paying extra, and for a lot it could even mean savings.

For instance, Scottish Power has a tariff which draws all of its electricity from hydro-electric power. This tariff is called H2O and switching to this could even work out cheaper if you choose to pay by monthly direct debit.

If you are currently already on Scottish Power's standard tariff then there is no extra cost or hassle to switch to their H2O tariff which draws electricity from hydro-electric power, they will also plant a tree on behalf of customers signing up to the H2O tariff as part of a British forest regeneration scheme run by the Carbon Neutral Company - brilliant!

Good Energy goes even further than this.  They have developed a scheme for Home Generation which pays people for the excess renewable electricity that they generate - from say wind or solar power - which means it is possible for some lucky householders to sell any excess renewable electricity generated back to their supplier that they do not use themselves.

Among Good Energy's accolades are that they are the National Consumers Councils's greenest energy supplier and they are also recommended by the Good Shopping Guide. They will even send a bottle of organic wine to you and each of your friends who switch to one of their wonderful tariffs - great stuff!

In fact, there is quite a choice of green tariffs to choose from so reducing your carbon footprint really can be as easy as flicking a switch.

This is why the Energy Saving Trust recommends that customers that are aiming to reduce their carbon footprint move now to a greener tariff - it could also even save you money along the way.  Now that's a Win - Win if ever there was one.

Don't forget to check out the seeus2save Online Energy Calculator at http://seeus2save.com/utilities.php  and choose the Green Tariff Option to see a whole range of green tariffs to choose from.
