Raleigh, NC -  The Triangle AMA Chapter (www.triangleama.org) announced today that it has received a Special Merit Award from the organization’s international headquarters. The AMA’s annual Chapter Excellence Awards program highlights exceptional performance among the organization’s 75 professional chapters across the U.S. and Canada. The Special Merit Award for Leadership recognizes the Triangle Chapter of the AMA for excellent management by its Board of Directors. In winning this award, the chapter is recognized as a leader in volunteer and financial management, as well as community outreach efforts.

“As a Special Merit winner, we feel great responsibility, not only to our own members, but to the marketing community as a whole in the Triangle area,” commented Mark Doggett, 2008-09 Chapter President. “It is our job to provide excellent programming and networking opportunities for our members and guests to elevate the prestige and credibility of the marketing profession in our area.  This honor affords us the opportunity to attract more marketing professionals to benefit from our chapter’s many activities.  It also serves us well in promoting our pool of talented members to local employers. Triangle AMA members have a wealth of marketing resources and best practices to draw upon to contribute to the success of their organization.”

"The Triangle has a great marketing community and this recognition by the American Marketing Association of our local chapter is a reflection of the marketing talent, leadership and innovation in our region,” commented Karen Albritton, 2009-10 Chapter President.  “With the dedication of 20 board members and 64 volunteers, I look forward to us continuing our exciting record of achievement.”
