Sept. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- French Designer Ornella Noto debuted her playful 2010 collection of bohemian, flirty frocks at iFashion Week’s “Emerging Designers” Fashion Show at Gotham Hall during Fashion Week. Noto, a designer with deep dance roots, was influenced by her adoration of the 80s.  The resulting alchemy produced a collection of short flirty tutu-type skirts, leotard-like jersey bodices and bohemian hemlines.  It was feminine club wear with class.  And being Parisian, of course Noto included a few slinky, silky, sexy dresses for the evening embellished with flowers and long gowns with flowing tiers of soft silks and satin.

The “Emerging Designers” fashion show was standing room only and just a stone’s throw from The Tents.  It was the highlight of the iFashion Week{end} which ran from September 10-19, 2009, produced by SEG Corporation and iConcept Media Group.  Five emerging designers from across the globe, including two Project Runway alumni, Teri Stevens and Kinley Collins presented their collections sans minus the reality TV drama.

iFashion Network’s Fashion Week provides a platform for the discovery and promotion of new talent in the world of fashion. This event marked the commencement of a seasonal fashion showcase that aims to introduce new talent, trends and fashion translation.  Runway shows, cocktail parties, presentations and other events were held at various venues in New York City.

Noto began studying dance when she was 8-years-old and soon began making her own costumes with the help of her mother and older sister who was a choreographer.  In her teens the torture of studying economics and law was too much.  Escaping to a part-time job in a trendy boutique on the French Rivera, she began to work her fashion craft.  She was given an opportunity through a family friend to begin working with the renowned Faconnable’s showroom.  She was soon signed on to create a luxurious sportswear collection for a new French brand.  From that experience she went on to create her first self-titled collection.

Noto, for her American debut, drew upon the City of Lights’ long standing reputation as an epicenter for bohemian-hearted artists.  “I wanted to present a sense of Parisian style -- it is very bohemian,” says Noto.  “I want my designs to be very avant-garde.”  Working with a limited palette of white, pale pinks and purples Noto creations evoke innocence and elegance.  “I like white and the image of purity in a woman – I like innocence,” says Noto.
