Shoe Metro Opening First Retail Store To Serve Local Customers

It will be a milestone for the retailer, which has been selling shoes online since 2004. Soon, local customers wanting hands-on service and more personal communication will be able to receive that extra care. The store's grand opening will take place on the weekend of October 2-4 in San Diego, where the company resides.

Shoe Metro's commitment to customers' needs means maximizing convenience. The retail store inventory connects directly to the Shoe Metro warehouse so customers will be able to personally sample any of the 90,000+ pairs of shoes in stock, including athletic shoes, casual shoes, dress shoes, heels/pumps, sandals, boots, and more. Computer kiosks with a simplified, user-friendly search program will allow customers to pinpoint the exact shoes they desire. Shoe Metro staff will be waiting on-hand to retrieve those items from the warehouse and return them to the customers. And as they wait on the customers, staff will offer their expert advice such as finding heels that won’t hurt the customers’ feet, current hot styles from brands like Anne Klein, and how to care for running shoes properly.

The store's grand opening weekend (Oct. 2-4) coincides with the MCAS Miramar Air Show at the nearby military station. Sign spinners will be strategically placed to notify incoming traffic about the store's opening.
